Fixing a Sumo Wrestler Lifestyle
Firstly, They Skip Breakfast
Animals which have been without food, and which are then given a high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet, all show noticeable increases in their fatty acid syntheses within just a few days.
Skipping on breakfast is a superb idea to condone fats to saty inside your body. This information comes from reputable Biochemistry textbooks. Also, this is the reason why junior level Sumo are not allowed to eat breakfast, because after all, they’re the ones who are most in need of gaining weight fast. The strategy is to decrease the rate of metabolism which is what will happen when you don’t gobble up that healthy breakfast.
Don’t want to look like a sumo? – Eat breakfast within an hour of waking up. Gobble up some food rich in fiber and protein and you’re sure to not crave for too much food the entire day.
Secondly, They Do Workouts on Empty Stomachs
You wouldn’t know it to look at them, but sumo wrestlers do actually practice a lot of self discipline in their lives. Waking up early is the norm, just as is exercising for several hours each day. The interesting thing though is that they don’t eat anything before their workouts, and while you may think this would cause them to loose weight, it actually helps them to gain weight instead. There are a number of reasons for this, but I won’t go into them in this article.
Don’t want to look like a sumo? – If you prefer doing your workouts early in the morning, be sure to eat something, either before or during your training session. You don’t need to take in much, especially if you’re concerned about weight gain, but you need something. A scoopful of whey+water is good enough to energize you at exercises and not even contribute to significant weght gain.
Thirdly, They Eat High-Carb and Low-Fat Diets
When it comes to developing a fattening diet, you just cannot compete with the Japanese. After all, sumo wrestlers are Japanese, and they eat a high carb, low fat diet. The rate at which fat is produced within the body will become elevated if you provide the body with enough carbohydrates and energy, while at the same time holding back on fatty acids. Fortunately for the sumo wrestlers, it’s possible to manipulate this environment because of the way in which the insulin hormone works.
